Commission welcomes government audit of racial and socio-economic disparities in public services

Wedi ei gyhoeddi: 31 Awst 2016

Commenting in response to the government, Equality and Human Rights Commission Chair David Isaac said:

Our report, Healing a divided Britain, showed the deep inequalities that still exist in our society and made the case for concerted action by government. I warmly welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement and hope today marks the start of a whole-government approach to tackling entrenched inequality and disadvantage in the UK. Together we can move beyond highlighting familiar problems to delivering new solutions that can be easily monitored. We stand ready to work with the government to ensure this translates into policies that will start to make a difference to people’s lives and opportunities.

Background

The PM’s announcement has used examples highlighted by our race report: Healing a divided Britain (YouTube).
