To support Scottish public authorities in meeting their equality duties, the Commission has produced technical and non-statutory guidance.

Technical Guidance

Technical guidance on the Public Sector Equality Duty: Scotland

Non-statutory Guidance on the Public Sector Equality Duty

These guides provide an overview of the public sector equality duty, including the general equality duty, the specific duties and who they apply to. They cover what public authorities should do to meet the duty, including steps that are legally required, as well as recommended actions. The Board Diversity aspect of the Public Sector Duty has been legislated for but not yet implemented. Please check with the Scottish Government for further information on likely implementation dates.

If you have any questions or feedback please contact the Commission in Scotland.
