Briefing for the 2021 Scottish Parliament election: our recommendations about transport

We believe that all parties should commit to these policy priorities for the 2021 to 2026 session of the Scottish Parliament:

  • Public transport must be accessible. As our work and social patterns change in a post-coronavirus context, so too will our use of transport. Our public transport system must take into account the needs of older and disabled people, enabling them to live dignified, independent lives, while protecting their safety and wellbeing, and seeking to reduce emissions.

  • Rail travel in Scotland must work for those with different needs. The next ScotRail operator must make the strongest possible commitments to accessible and inclusive rail travel.
