In March 2022, the University of Warwick conducted desk based research on behalf of the Equality and Human Rights Commission. It showed that only 12.4% of maintained secondary, special schools and pupil referral units in Wales had a current Strategic Equality Plan accessible on their website.

This report summarises the findings of review of Strategic Equality Plans (SEPs) published by secondary schools, special schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) in Wales.
