Civil society organisations and international human rights: research summary

Published: 31 July 2020

Last updated: 31 July 2020

What countries does this apply to?

  • England
  • Wales

This is a summary of our research into civil society organisations' (CSO) engagement with the International Human Rights Framework.

In December 2019, we commissioned the University of Nottingham Human Rights Law Centre to carry out the work.

The summary shows:

  • the extent to which CSOs in England and Wales refer to the International Human Rights Framework in their work
  • the impact that referring to the Framework has on CSOs’ activities
  • what changes would enable CSOs to engage more effectively with the Framework in future
