Challenging social care decisions: Survey of local authorities in Scotland

Published: 26 January 2023

What countries does this apply to?

  • Scotland

This report explores how well the current systems and processes work for people who want to challenge decisions about their social care in Scotland.

It describes the lived experiences of 18 people who volunteered to participate.

This research will increase understanding and awareness of the issues associated with challenging decisions about social care in Scotland. It is complementary to our inquiry in England and Wales on how older and disabled adults and unpaid carers can challenge local authority decisions about social care and support.
