This report is the most comprehensive review of how Britain is performing on equality and human rights in 2023. We last published it in 2018, when it was called 'Is Britain Fairer?'

It is split into chapters for the protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010. These chapters cover:

  • Developments affecting multiple groups
  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Race
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex, including pregnancy and maternity and marriage and civil partnership
  • Sexual orientation

It provides a complete picture of people’s life chances in Britain today.
