What is the consultation for?

The Scottish Government consulted on the draft regulations for a new benefit payment, adult disability payment. It is available to disabled people to support additional living costs.

Why have we responded to the consultation?

We want to make sure that the benefit is available and simple to access for all disabled people requiring additional support.

Our recommendations

The Scottish Government must involve disabled people and their representatives in a review of the adult disability payment. This will help to make sure that the benefit scheme is inclusive and sensitive to the specific needs of its users.
