Commenting on proposals by the Hampton-Alexander Review - to ensure talented women at the top of business are recognised, promoted and rewarded - David Isaac, Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said:
We welcome the recommendations of the Hampton Alexander report and view the call for a third of leading roles in public companies as a very positive development. However, we will continue to push for even greater change so that half of all appointments to senior and executive management level positions in public companies are filled by women. We will also work hard to ensure that there is a strong pipeline of women for top jobs in all FTSE companies, so that our goal is achievable.
